1951 – Where it all began… Ed & Vivienne Keeven begin installing sod in Florissant, MO as Ed Keeven Sod, Co., Inc. As business grows, the Keeven’s decide to become growers as well.

1963 – From Florissant to O’Fallon… Ed and Viv move to O’Fallon, MO and start a 120 acre turf farm.

1973 – Changing Focus…Ed Keeven Sod, Co., Inc. grows to nearly 400 acres. Ed & Viv dissolve the installation business to commit their time solely to growing and selling top quality turf.

1984 – The Power of Three…Three sons, Ed, Jr., Tom and Jim buy the turf farm from their parents and Ed Keeven Sod Co., Inc. begins operations as Emerald View Turf Farms.

1985 – Expanding Again…Ed Jr., Tom and Jim expand Emerald View Turf Farms to the Mid-Missouri area. Jim and Kathy move to Jefferson City to pioneer a second location for the company.

1989 – And Again…Tom and his family move to Columbia, IL to begin Emerald View Turf Farms’ third location.

The Next 25 Years…Emerald View Turf Farms becomes one of the most successful and well known sod farmers in the Midwest.

2011 – Family Tradition Continues…A new chapter in our history begins for Jim, Kathy and family. Now operating as SelecTurf, Inc., they continue the same dedication, hard work and love taught by Ed and Viv.

The history of the Keeven family is the heart and soul of SelecTurf, Inc. and the entire family is excited to continue serving Mid-Missouri for many years to come.
